When you first set foot in Lapland, it really is like walking into a scene from a Christmas card. There are blankets of snow as far as you can see. You're surrounded by forests of snow-laden Christmas trees. And we'll add to the magic when you and your family set off in search of Santa's hideaway log cabin. Our two-night breaks in Lapland in the weeks leading up to Christmas are packed with more than even this: you'll enjoy a reindeer sleigh ride, be pulled through the snow by a team of eager huskies, venture into the pristine landscape by snowmobile, and there's all sorts of fun in the snow for your kids. We recommend bringing a camera because there are scenes here you're going to want to capture forever!
It is an experience that will live in their memories forever. The setting is a winter wonderland, on the edge of Europe's last great wilderness. It's magical, of course ... why else would Santa make his home here? You start out on snowmobiles, then in the quiet forest, you transfer to a reindeer sleigh. Perhaps an elf will appear, to help you look for clues. Then suddenly, you glimpse a golden glow from a lonely log cabin! Is this Santa's secret hideaway? Will you dare knock and enter?

3 Day Itinerary
Your search for Santa is the highlight of your two-night break. But there is so much more included. From a Husky Experience to a Snowmobile Adventure, from sledging to a Festive Dinner, your short break is filled with memorable experiences. Here is a typical itinerary.
Day One
After you land in Enontekio in Finland you will be guided to your coach. The journey (15 minutes to our hotels in Hetta or one hour to the Davvi Arctic Lodge in Karesuando) takes you through the heart of the Sami lands. Watch out for reindeer in the woods! Your all-in-one thermal suits and boots collection will be organised by your representative. After checking in at your hotel, your rep hosts a welcome meeting and during dinner, your rep will answer questions.
Day Two
After breakfast, you will be joining your first included Santa Safari - the 40-minute snowmobile adventure. A warming lunch will then follow. A supervised kids' snowmobile ride will be available or, if you're lucky, a chance to get up close to a friendly reindeer.
Then the highlight of the day when you board a reindeer sleigh and set off In Search of Father Christmas. During a private family meeting in his cabin, each child has the chance to talk with Santa and receives a small gift.
Before dinner, join a walk to the local church. After a welcome by the local vicar and carols, you return to your hotel for a Festive Dinner. Afterwards, why not join us on an optional Northern Lights Husky Safari?
Day Three
Check out after breakfast at 0900hrs, before joining your 40-minute Husky Experience. Then, there's time for snow activities, with toboggans available. And there's plenty of family fun to be had making snowmen or enjoying snowball fights! Or you could try an optional excursion, perhaps Reindeer Herding. After lunch at the hotel, you set off by coach to Enontekio and your flight home.

Puppy Encounter
Strictly limited numbers are available for this exciting chance to befriend the husky puppies. You are transferred to the husky camp, where you meet the new puppies and hear stories from real mushers.

Reindeer Herding
You will visit a reindeer gathering place where you learn about herding and even how to lasso a reindeer. Then venture into the Arctic wilderness on a short safari, drawn through the snow by a reindeer while sitting in a sleigh.

Northern Lights Snowmobile Safari
An evening excursion when, with the night sky overhead, you head out through the wilderness to a vantage point in search of the Northern Lights. Based on two adults sharing a snowmobile.**

Ice Fishing by Snowmobile
This is a great trip for all the family. You travel by snowmobile to a nearby popular fishing site where you can try your hand at traditional ice fishing – you just drill a hole in the ice and lower your baited hook into the icy waters below.*

Northern Lights Husky Safari
Take a night safari on a sledge mushing your own team of dogs to a nearby vantage point where, if you are lucky, you may see the Northern Lights evolving in the sky above (a stunning phenomenon which cannot be guaranteed).**

A Night In An Igloo
An extraordinary experience! Inside, the igloo is surprisingly warm and cosy. There is a real bed for a comfortable night's sleep, with a snow surround and covered with reindeer hides.

Further Information
All excursions include expert guides, equipment and all necessary instruction. On our Northern Lights night safaris, we search for the best viewpoints rather than aim to cover a specific distance.
On all safaris, unless a supplement is paid to secure a single rider, you may be required to share with another person from the group. All prices are per person. All distances and durations are approximate and subject to weather conditions and route on the day.
All excursions are subject of minimum numbers and local conditions and are non-refundable. However, you will be automatically refunded the full price paid for your excursion if it doesn’t go ahead due to operational reasons.
*All Snowmobile activities carry a €550 damage deposit which is payable locally. A valid driving license must be shown upon arrival.** The ability to drive and control a husky team on longer safaris is determined by physical attributes. Normally, anybody over the age of 18 should be able to handle a dog team comfortably.

All the dates above are available as of our last update. However the prices and tours are subject to availability and availability cannot be guaranteed for late bookings made between Oct-Dec where availability will be extremely limited with most tours likely to be full. Alternative tours will be offered should this tour be fully booked.
